Aston Bay Prepares for Ground Work and 2027 Drill Campaign Following 3D Target Modeling
How integrated 3D geophysical inversion modeling and high-grade surface sampling are de-risking a major sediment-hosted copper system in Nunavut.

Geophysics rarely generates much poetry, but when two completely separate algorithms squint at the exact same patch of Northern Canadian tundra and see the exact same thing, mineral exploration investors tend to sit up and take notice.
Aston Bay Holdings Ltd. (TSXV: BAY / OTCQB: ATBHF) has revealed findings from 3D geophysical inversion modelling across a 126-square-kilometer block at its Epworth sediment-hosted copper-silver-zinc-cobalt-gold project in Nunavut. The results have effectively delivered a digital rendering of what geologists believe is a massive, sub-surface copper "plumbing system".
The modeling process integrated 3D Magnetic Vector Inversion with 3D electromagnetic resistivity data derived from an earlier airborne survey. Deep-seated structural faults mapped by the magnetic inversion line up directly with strong conductive features from the resistivity data, a classic geophysical combination that often signals the presence of metal-bearing sulfide minerals.
Adding to the intrigue, several of the conductive zones widen as they approach the surface. In economic geology, that geometry serves as a structural hallmark for stratigraphically controlled sediment-hosted copper deposits, similar to the world-class systems found in the Central African Copper Belt.
What makes these sub-surface signatures particularly compelling is where they sit relative to existing work on the ground. The new targets align directly on trend with high-grade surface findings discovered during previous field seasons, including the Greenback showing, which yielded rock grab samples running up to 29.2% copper and 217 grams per tonne silver. Historical surface boulders at Epworth have previously returned grab samples containing up to 61.2% copper and 5,600 grams per tonne silver.
Combining magnetic and resistivity data offers a distinct operational advantage: it significantly lowers false-positive risks, such as mistaking conductive surface water for an ore body. Confident in the alignment between the models and high-grade surface mineralization, Aston Bay Holdings Ltd. (TSXV: BAY / OTCQB: ATBHF) acted swiftly to stake an additional 18.7 square kilometers of land, expanding the total Epworth property footprint to 1,040.7 square kilometers.
Under its option agreement with private outfit Emerald Geological Services, Aston Bay Holdings Ltd. (TSXV: BAY / OTCQB: ATBHF) can earn an 80% undivided interest in Epworth by investing $3 million in qualifying exploration expenditures over a four-year period.
With the 3D target models in hand, the company is integrating the data with surface sampling and remote sensing observations. Field teams are conducting ground geophysics, geological mapping, and structural sampling to refine drill targets. Applications to modify existing permits are under way, setting up a winter logistics push to pre-position camp equipment and fuel ahead of a planned maiden drill campaign.
