At the Soo Copper Project near Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Sterling Metals Corp. (TSXV: SAG | OTCQB: SAGGF) is proving that its initial high-grade strikes were no fluke, rolling out fresh step-out drilling and executive insight that point to a massive, laterally continuous copper engine.
The latest drill results from the project's MEPS Zone deliver concrete technical proof that the deposit is expanding rapidly to the east. Drill hole SC-26-13, collared roughly 140 metres east of landmark hole SC-26-10, intercepted a vast 445.0-metre interval grading 0.40% copper equivalent starting from a depth of just 22 metres. Nestled within that broad envelope is a near-surface zone of 203.10 metres grading 0.51% copper equivalent, highlighted by dense, high-grade intervals including 9.50 metres of 2.34% copper equivalent from 74 metres and 16.25 metres of 2.31% copper equivalent from 176 metres. Downhole at 459 metres, the bit punched through a deep quartz-chalcopyrite breccia returning 7.4 metres at 1.49% copper equivalent, extending higher-grade copper mineralization 100 metres farther east while demonstrating that the hydrothermal feeder system remains wide open at depth.
