Super Copper Mobilizes Rig for 5,000-Metre Drill Program in the Atacama
Super Copper Corp. turns the bit on a 5,000-metre Phase 1 maiden drill campaign targeting an 800-metre chargeability corridor in Chile’s prolific Atacama Region.

With global energy transition dynamics keeping copper squarely in the market spotlight, Super Copper Corp. (CSE: CUPR | OTCQB: CUPPF) has officially transitioned from target definition to physical discovery.
Regular readers of JuniorStocks.com may recall our previous coverage highlighting the explorer's prospective footprint in Chile’s Atacama Region. Now, the main event has arrived: diamond drilling is officially underway at the flagship Cordillera Cobre Project.
The maiden Phase 1 exploration program contemplates up to 15 diamond drill holes totaling approximately 5,000 metres. Operations are currently zeroed in on the El Alto target, where systematic 2025–2026 geophysical campaigns delineated a continuous chargeability corridor extending over 800 metres in strike length. The initial hole, designated DH26CC-001, was collared at an azimuth of 040° and a dip of −50°, targeting a depth of roughly 400 metres with built-in operational flexibility to drill deeper based on live geological observations of the core.
To maximize productivity, specialized drilling contractor Visión Perforaciones SpA mobilized a track-mounted diamond core rig capable of reaching depths beyond 1,000 metres. Operating around the clock on a continuous double-shift schedule, the rig is advancing at a rapid pace of approximately 50 metres every 24 hours. All necessary regulatory notifications and permits, including formal filings with Chile's National Geology and Mining Service (SERNAGEOMIN), were fully secured prior to turning the drill bit.
Geologically, the El Alto target features copper oxide mineralization, hydrothermal breccias, and calcite-quartz stockwork veining within a northeast-trending structural system northeast of Copiapó, positioned in the same regional district as the Venado Sur mine. The Phase 1 drill holes are designed to systematically test coincident induced polarization (IP) chargeability and 3D magnetic vector inversion (MVI) anomalies defined by surface sampling and ground magnetics. Should El Alto fulfill expectations, the nearby Calcite Hill target offers immediate follow-up targets backed by its own defined IP anomalies.
Technical oversight remains rigorous on site. Core logging, high-resolution photography, and sampling are conducted under QA/QC protocols supervised by technical consultancy APEX Geoscience Ltd. Technical disclosure is reviewed and approved by independent Qualified Person Michael B. Dufresne, M.Sc., P.Geo., P.Geol., with core samples dispatched to an accredited independent laboratory for official assaying.
With the program fully funded and CEO Zachary Dolesky confirming that core is already coming out of the ground, JuniorStocks.com will continue monitoring assay developments as results roll in through the remainder of 2026.
