UK introduces the Cannabis Patient Card
Marihuana users in the United Kingdom should better not go without.

Can using a UK cannabis patient card alleviate one of the greatest fears that UK cannabis patients know? There is not a single cannabis patient in the world, not even in countries where cannabis is now legal, who has not felt this fear at some point in the last ten years (at least): What happens if I am arrested for possession? Beyond the press and the solemn news about the progress of the industry, in the weeds and the everyday hum and drumming of everyday life, every patient is faced with it - and for reasons ranging from sheer bad luck to the decision of friends, neighbors and It is enough for others that they do not like the smell that wafts from a closed apartment door or the garden next door. Losing your own medication is, of course, just the beginning. In the UK, this discussion is taking a new level thanks to a patient-led initiative launched last fall. CanCard, the aforementioned UK cannabis patient card, is an initiative conceived by UK lead patient advocate Carly Barton and has strong support from senior police officers and even national politicians. British patients (many of whom do not have access to sympathetic doctors or a legal source for the product) will have at least a bit more protection, if not help, in finding a prescribing doctor. Leading doctors have also endorsed the UK cannabis patient card program, which works with the Primary Care Cannabis Network (PCCN) run by an NHS family doctor, Dr. Leon Barron, is headed.
