Tesla pushes customers to quickly install solar PV systems
The move comes as tax credits for private home energy storage will come to an end in 2021.

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) redesigned its solar business last year with new solar panels and low prices. The company is now promoting its solar energy products before the end of 2020, when federal tax credits are set to decline. In the past, US taxpayers with a solar energy system installed received a 30% tax credit on the cost of the system. This year the tax credit has decreased to 26% and will decrease to 22% by 2021. Tesla is reminding people of the deadline as the rooftop solar energy business is a fair part of its business. In a tweet, the company urged people to order solar panels before the end of the year before the decline. Tesla is turning things around following the decline in solar use following the acquisition of SolarCity. The company added 57 MW of solar in the last quarter compared to a record low of 27 MW in the second quarter. The company wants homeowners to reap the benefits of the loan by having the equipment installed in time for the remaining two months. Since the installation time can vary depending on the market and the size of the system, homeowners should hurry to take advantage of the time window. Interestingly, once it's up and running, it's quick, and there have been instances where Tesla solar panels have been installed in a single day. The tricky part is that it can take a while for the Tesla installation crew to get to your house. It is important to note that the policy change applies to all solar energy systems, not just the Tesla system. As such, homeowners should consider getting quotes for solar power systems from a variety of suppliers, but Tesla offers the most competitive tariffs, with prices for their rooftop solar systems below the national average. Tesla currently offers rooftop PV systems across the United States for $ 1.49 per watt. There are rumors that a Joe Biden administration will roll back solar panel initiatives, but that could be a while before that happens.
