The next wave in the cannabis bull market
Catalysts for the cannabis space, including national legalization in the US

There are a number of catalysts for the cannabis space right now, including national legalization in the US and various state legalization plans that are currently under discussion. The recent bill by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to promote the idea of national legalization at the federal level in the US appears to be a shot across the bow for this process. Schumer has admitted that he doesn't have the necessary votes at the moment, but reports say the bill is due to reappear in September after some adjustments. The room could be prepared for a farewell in the coming weeks. The rest of this process will have a dramatic impact on stocks in this space, including GrowGeneration Corp (Nasdaq: GRWG), Innovative Industrial Properties Inc (NYSE: IIPR), Sugarmade Inc (OTCMKTS: SGMD), Cronos Group Inc (NASDAQ: CRON ), Green Thumb Industries Inc (OTCMKTS: GTBIF), Canopy Growth Corp (NASDAQ: CGC), and ETFMG Alternative Harvest ETF (NYSEARCA: MJ). Below we take a closer look at some of the most interesting names on this list. GrowGeneration Corp (NASDAQ: GRWG) presents itself as a company that owns and operates hydroponic and organic garden retail stores in the United States. The company has grown rapidly through a number of key strategic moves, and now carries and sells thousands of products, including organic nutrients and soils, advanced lighting technology, and state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor hydroponic equipment used by commercial and residential gardeners. GrowGeneration Corp (NASDAQ: GRWG) recently announced the acquisition of Aqua Serene, a southern Oregon-based hydroponic garden center with offices in Eugene and Ashland, Oregon. Aqua Serene is one of Oregon's largest indoor and outdoor garden centers with annual sales exceeding $ 14 million. "As the fourth largest legal cannabis market in the country, Oregon continues to be an important market for GrowGeneration," said Darren Lampert, CEO of GrowGen. "The Oregon market in particular has tremendous potential, with over thirteen hundred recreational growing licenses in the state. GrowGen is proud to expand its presence in the area through the acquisition of highly regarded and leading hydroponics businesses such as Aqua Serene." The context for this announcement is a bit of an offer, with stocks having traded well over the past five days, up about 3% in that time frame. GRWG stocks have been relatively flat over the last month with very little net movement during this period. GrowGeneration Corp (NASDAQ: GRWG) posted revenue of $ 90 million in its most recent quarterly figures - a figure that represents a 172.9% increase in revenue compared to last year's figures. In addition, the company has a strong balance sheet with cash and cash equivalents exceeding current liabilities ($ 133.1 million versus $ 45.7 million). Sugarmade Inc. (OTCMKTS: SGMD) is a rapidly emerging force in the California cannabis market. The company pioneered a fully vertical model where it produces cannabis, manufactures cannabis products, distributes those products to delivery centers, and then delivers them to its customers' doors. The company recently acquired licenses, property, and resources, and launched its Nug Avenue delivery business, where sales are growing rapidly. Sugarmade Inc. (OTCMKTS: SGMD) released a major update this morning highlighting the strong growth of the cannabis delivery service Nug Avenue and the company's continued moves toward verticalizing its model by acquiring California cannabis licenses and potentially launching commercial operations mentioned in the cannabis delivery market outside of the state of California. The big news at Nug Avenue is that the company just launched in LA in March and already has over 10,000 members. That is an extraordinary growth. This is especially important as the company recently signed a letter of intent to acquire several new licenses. It also just announced that it now has funds in an escrow account to purchase more land. When you add all of these concepts together, they point to rapid expansion in the form of new Nug Avenue locations. And with more locations in LA it may not be enough, because the company has included in its update
