Honda will recall 1.4 million vehicles world wide
The Japanese car manufacturer blames safety issues on the newly announced recall.

Honda (NYSE: HMC) claims to be recalling nearly 1.8 million vehicles worldwide, including 1.4 million in the United States in four separate campaigns, some of which are related to reported fires. Honda Says Recall in US affects 268,000 2002-2006 model years CR-Vs to replace master switches for power windows; the company says 16 fires have been reported related to this issue. Honda is also recalling 735,000 2018-20 Accord, Accord Hybrid and 2019-20 Insight vehicles in the US to update the body control module software; a programming error could cause multiple warning lights to come on and electronic components to malfunction. In addition, two recalls affecting 430,000 vehicles in the US concern a possible breakage of the drive shafts due to corrosion. According to the company, no injuries were reported in connection with the recalls. Honda said last month that it would be the first automaker in the world to mass-produce level 3 autonomous cars equipped with sensors that allow the driver to navigate their vehicle through congested highway traffic.
