Despite general strike B2Gold is confident that production will continue normally

B2Gold (NYSEMKT: BTG) says the operations of its Fekola mine in Mali have not been affected by a five-day nationwide strike by the country's leading labor union, which started the strike Monday amid a dispute with the government over wages and conditions. B2Gold says it has agreed with workers to continue production at full capacity at Fekola, which is expected to produce 590,000 to 620,000 ounces of gold this year. Mali is one of Africa's largest gold producers, but several international mining companies, including Resolute Mining, say their production was not disrupted by the strike.
