Ford has to delay the launch of the new Bronco
The ongoing pandemic has affected the car manufacturers´supply chain.

Ford Motors (NYSE: F) announced that the launch of the upcoming Bronco SUV has been postponed from spring to summer 2021 due to supply chain issues related to COVID-19. Jiyan Cadiz, the company's spokesman, said customers who reserved the Bronco should start ordering on Monday. However, this was postponed to mid-January. Cadiz said customer deliveries of the new Bronco two- and four-door vehicles were postponed this summer due to the pandemic-related challenges that suppliers are facing. He added that Ford is committed to making Broncos with standards that customers deserve and expect. While the delay is not ideal for customers, industry experts and retailers argue that the delay is better than potentially dealing with quality issues later. This could help avoid a similar scenario to the botched Ford Explorer in 2019. The delays in introducing the Bronco are a worrying indicator for the company. The U.S. auto industry, particularly its suppliers, continues to struggle with rising COVID-19 cases. The seven-day average of new cases of COVID-19 is currently at its highest level. In the spring, when the coronavirus spread rapidly in the US, automakers had to postpone production of several products for months or money because of problems with suppliers save up. Some factories had to close for almost two months. The 2021 Ford Bronco is one of the company's most anticipated vehicles in years. The new SUV will add up to $ 1 billion to the company's North American pre-tax profit once it has sold 125,000 units. According to Ford, 150,000 people have already made reservations for the SUV that Ford previously manufactured from 1965 to 1996. Interestingly, the problems in the supply chain have no impact on the Bronco Sport, which is part of the new Bronco family that is arriving at retailers. The Bronco Sport is based on a crossover or car structure and has less powerful four-cylinder engines.
