Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) is one of the largest retailers in the US with a huge deluge of data on what shoppers are looking for. Recently, the company analyzed its Walmart.com orders and identified some products that were popular per state. According to the analysis that found 25 top-selling products in each state, Cheerios was the most popular in New York, with Californians favoring protein powders, while the grape-flavored drink mix was the most popular with Ohioers. French fried onions are popular in DC; North Carolinians love mayonnaise, while vanilla icing was a big seller in Washington. The cake mix is a popular product in Alabama, suggesting that Southerners can sometimes bake by the box. On the flip side, Alaskans are well aware that they have a cute bathroom, and this is where shower curtains are very popular. Alaskans love their toasted bread, and the 2-slice toaster was a best seller in the state. Arkansas consumers seem to have many babies as baby diapers were the top selling product. Given the high altitude in Colorado, it's no surprise that apple juice was a popular product, while in Connecticut the Trolls DVD is the top-selling product. In Delaware, multivitamins and medications are popular for women, and in Florida, the home-connected Google devices offer consumers the ability to play their music. The top selling product in Georgia was humidifiers, which help consumers cool down and breathe easier. While crafting may seem like something you wouldn't expect in Hawaii, the truth is that Hawaiians love fabric, while Idaho has a huge demand for Gatorade. Hand sanitizer is popular in Indiana, and there are several children in Iowa, as diapers were Walmart's top-selling product. Raisins are popular in Lousianna, while jelly and peanut butter seem to be the lunch of choice in Maine. Tennis is popular in Massachusetts as tennis balls were the most sold in the state, and folding chairs were the most popular in Minnesota, where sports are capitalized. Golf balls are very popular in New Mexico thanks to its gold course.
