Legalization should boost tourism in Mexico

Mexico is on the verge of legalizing the private use and commercialization of marijuana. In an article published Friday, Ricardo Monreal, chairman of the ruling Morena Party in the Senate, told Reuters News Service that he expects a law legalizing recreational pot to be approved before December, allowing it to be sold by regulated private companies becomes. Monreal added that the ruling party, which leads a coalition with a majority in both houses of Congress, is unlikely to have any problem passing the law that he believes would legalize "carrying a certain amount" of marijuana. It is expected that this move will open a new lucrative market not only for pot entrepreneurs, but also for marijuana tourism. Travel consultants are fascinated by the development. "Wow, I haven't heard that yet, but I think it's great," Tyson Wharton, owner of Sioux Empire Travel, told TravelPulse. "I think legalization will help the Mexican economy and could be very helpful with any violence and disputes between cartels and gangs. I suspect it is the same for the US legalizing. As for travelers, I think they are will definitely bring tourism to the country who may not have the opportunity to participate in the activity at home. Miguel ángel Navarro, also a Morena Senator and chairman of the House of Lords Health Committee, admitted that lawmakers had no choice but to legalize recreational marijuana use by December. The Supreme Court originally set a deadline of April 2020 for legalization, but extended it to December 15 because of the coronavirus pandemic. Travel agent Tammy Levent touched on this topic back in June in her column for TravelPulse, noting that marijuana is becoming legal in many places around the world and that more and more travelers are turning to travel agents to find out more about pot-friendly destinations. Travel agents would need to be well versed in making such travel destinations safe and provide their clients with complete guidance on this type of vacation. "The few recreational destinations that are currently popular in the US include Colorado, Washington, Alaska, Nevada, California, and Vermont. Suggested rental options in the US include Blue Sky Ranch in Black Hawk, Colorado, and Sonshine House in the US Near Olympia, Washington, and the Bear Creek Lodge in Hope, Alaska, "wrote Levent. "Some international leisure destinations that are very popular right now are Canada, Lisbon, Portugal, Uruguay, Jamaica, Freetown Christiania, Copenhagen, Tel Aviv, Israel and, of course, Amsterdam," wrote Levent.
