Saskatchewan is slowly becoming a mining hot spot
Various mining companies have made the Canadian state their home recently.

The Canadian Prairie Province of Saskatchewan has an astonishing number of mineral resources and is home to mines in many places: uranium, potash, copper, zinc, gold, nickel-cobalt, rare earths and more. The La Ronge-Flin Flon area is a very promising mineral area in many ways: It is underlain by promising Precambrian greenstone belts and granitoid rocks that host a variety of base metal, precious metal and critical rare earth element deposits The Flin Flon Snow Lake greenstone belt stretches across the border with Manitoba and is the most productive VMS (volcanic massive sulfides) belt in the world. While the Iberian Pyrite Belt in Spain and Portugal is home to huge lead-zinc VMS deposits, the Flin Flon Snow Lake Belt is home to over 30 copper-zinc VMS deposits that have already been mined, as well as several deposits that are still in exploration - and development phase. With all of these significant mining activities in place, extensive infrastructure has been built, including rail and road access, a smelter, and hydropower in Island Falls to operate this metal complex. The Flin Flon Snow Lake Belt is also home to over 30 gold deposits, some of them former producers and some advanced prospects. Compared to the base metal exploration that has taken place, gold development has been modest, which offers exploration opportunities. There are several other greenstone belts in the La Ronge-Flin Flon area that are part of the Trans-Hudson Corridor and have received less attention. The Saskatchewan Mining-Friendly Government has recognized that the main Flin Flon mine is due to close over the next twelve months as reserves are depleted and has proactively promoted mining in the Flin Flon-La Ronge area through a range of supportive measures. This includes a provincial tax credit of 10% on top of federal (provincial) depreciation and credits. There are also direct cash grants for drilling in this area of up to $ 50,000 per drill program (Flin Flon-La Ronge area only). Plus there's modern geological mapping, provincial / federal government funded VTEM surveys, modest land ownership costs, and even an appealing COVID-19 relief for 2020 assessment work. Taken together, Saskatchewan is an inviting and promising mineral exploration jurisdiction for all of these reasons. Searchlight Resources Inc. \[SCLT-TSXV; CNYCF-OTC; 2CC2-FSE\] is a resource exploration company with a growing portfolio of high quality, advanced stage exploration projects hosted by a variety of metals and located close to existing infrastructure in Canada's premier mining area, Saskatchewan Searchlight's primary project, Bootleg Lake, is a high grade gold project near the Flin Flon Mining Center. Three small mines have produced high grade gold on this 54 km2 property. The property includes two large-scale exploration targets, a large gold-eligible shear zone and a volcanic rock belt eligible for VMS copper-zinc-gold deposits. Bootleg Lake is just 3 miles from Flin Flon, Manitoba, the home of Hudbay's 777 underground copper-zinc-gold-silver mine, mill and smelter complex. The 777 mine is located within the productive Flin Flon-Snow Lake Greenstone Belt. With the 777 mine slated to close in 2022, HudBay is exploring the region for additional ore deposits. Searchlight's diverse metals portfolio includes several other projects in Saskatchewan, including properties showing great promise for gold, copper, nickel, zinc, cobalt, vanadium and rare earths. In addition to its primary projects, Searchlight Resources has started exploring new projects by staking. In September 2020 Searchlight announced the staking of a 29.7 km2 claim covering the Reef Lake nickel-copper target in north-central Saskatchewan, approximately 150 km north of La Ronge, and on which exploration work was limited between 1956 and 1957, including 27 holes were drilled. Results from these initial holes returned 37.8 meters averaging 0.37% nickel, including a 9.8 meter interval grading 0.66% nickel and 0.28% copper.
