Putin gives hope for gas price reduction

The Yamal-Europe pipeline, which normally delivers Russian gas to Western Europe, returned fuel to Poland for the ninth day in a row on Wednesday, according to data from the German network operator Gascade.
The data showed that on Wednesday morning at the Mallnow measuring point on the German-Polish border, almost 1.2 million kilowatt hours (kWh / h) flowed eastwards to Poland, as much as in the past 24 hours.

The auction results show that Russian gas exporter Gazprom has not booked transit capacity for exports via the Yamal-Europe pipeline for Wednesday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said last week that Germany was reselling Russian gas to Poland and Ukraine instead of relieving the overheated market, blaming German gas importers for the turnaround and price hike.
The German Ministry of Economic Affairs declined to comment on Putin's comment. The gas importers did not respond to Reuters' requests for comment.
Data from Slovak pipeline operator Eustream showed that capacity nominations for Russian gas flows from Ukraine to Slovakia via the Velke Kapusany border crossing point, another key route for Russian gas to Europe, stood at 843,422 megawatt hours (MWh) on Wednesday, up against an increase Tuesday's 773,712, but still below early December levels.
