Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccine enters Late Stage Testing
The Coronavirus vaccine has shown promising results so far.

Johnson and Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) has entered final stages of testing its vaccine candidate COVID-19 in an international trial that will enroll over 60,000 subjects in 215 locations in the US and other countries. Johns and Johnson starts third phase of the COVID-19 study The company, which is a US government drug maker under the Operation Warp Speed program, is the youngest company to enter late-stage coronavirus vaccine testing. Other drug companies that have participated in late-phase studies include AstraZeneca (Nasdaq: AZN), Moderna (NYSE: MRNA), and Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE). Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Disease, said four coronavirus vaccine candidates are currently in phase three of clinical trials, barely eight months after the virus was identified. He said the J&J vaccine has potential as early tests suggest it could be useful in controlling the virus. Johnson & Johnson noted that its COVID-19 vaccine was developed using the same technology that was used to develop the Ebola vaccine. He combines the genetic material from SARS-CoV-2 with a modified adenovirus that causes the common cold. The experimental vaccines will be tested in the phase 3 study to determine their safety and effectiveness. According to Paul Stoffels, the company's chief scientist, there could be enough data by the end of this year to provide results, with JNJ planning to produce up to 1 billion doses in 2021.
