Deutsche Telekom prepares sale of radio tower business
Company open to minority or majority stake

Deutsche Telekom (OTC: DTEGY) hopes to sell its radio tower business as early as the first quarter of next year, the Handelsblatt reported on Sunday, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
The telecommunications business was open to offers for a minority or majority stake, reported the German newspaper and estimated the division's valuation at up to 20 billion euros (22.48 billion dollars). The company is aiming for a sale by the end of the first quarter of next year, it said.
Deutsche Telekom did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the report.
CEO Tim Hoettges said in November that he was open to finding an industrial partner for the company's tower infrastructure a few days after Vodafone (NASDAQ: VOD) announced that there were opportunities for such a move for its recently listed tower Would consider business.
"I would like to have an industrial partner and am ready to deconsolidate," Hoettges said in November, adding that he would like to retain a role in post-acquisition decision-making, particularly in influencing further mergers and acquisitions.
