Carlos Santana now has his own cannabis brand
The musician wants to attack the wellness market with his products.

Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana announced Tuesday that he would launch a brand of premium cannabis products designed to promote healing and spiritual wellbeing. The new brand, known by Santana as Mirayo, is a collaboration between the iconic musician and Left Coast Ventures of California. The name of the brand, derived from the Spanish words mi rayo (my ray), serves to honor the Mexican heritage of the ten-time Grammy Award-winning artist while inspiring consumers to follow the light that lies within them . Santana told the High Times in a telephone interview that the name "comes from the idea that God has imbued you, me, and everyone with heavenly powers". The brand's first offerings include five-packs with half-gram pre-rolls and 7-gram jars with high-quality cannabis flowers. The products will be available in three different sun-grown strains or "categories of consciousness" including Radiance (Sativa), Symmetry (Hybrid) and Centered (Indica). Santana hopes the new line will help those who enjoy the products find peace and separation from a sometimes chaotic world. "I want to be able to create a brand that gives you distance," he said. "Detachment means you don't give a shit or you don't give a shit. It means you care, but emotionally you are not geared towards making yourself fall." A brand that spans years of personal and professional experience Santana claims that for decades cannabis helped develop a mindset that "creates music to be played with the influence of mine expansion". "In the past, when I was smoking pot, I suddenly heard with the same ears and felt with the same heart as Jimi Hendrix or Jerry Garcia. And they expanded my imagination and expanded my ability to use emotions, passion and feelings to get a note that hangs outside of time with eternity, "he explained. To create the line of products for Mirayo, Santana combined years of personal cannabis experience with the expertise of professionals at Left Coast Ventures, "who have invested much more in that knowledge than I have". For example, the proposed topical formulations will be based on home remedies his mother made when he was growing up in Tijuana, Mexico. "It was a 50/50 principle," Santana said of the product development process. “I invited her to create ointments and certain things like my mother used them. My mother grabbed a piece of marijuana and put it in a glass of alcohol and let it simmer for a couple of hours, then take it out and put it in rubbing their hands, joints or knees. And it would cure arthritis and pain ". Profits to support indigenous communities With Mirayo launched in the largest legal cannabis market in the United States, cynics might suspect that Santana is hoping for personal gain from it. However, he insists that his motives are philanthropic. "My goal is to share the financial proceeds from all of this with the American Indian reservations - Navajo, Apache, and Hopi, all - to help children around the world. But especially, I want most, if not all, of that American Indians promise to help education, "Santana said. "Hopefully we can invite sisters and brothers to become lawyers who will be the new warriors of today, scouts to protect rights that the white man does not uphold. So for me it is all about this energy for the highest To benefit my sisters and brothers well ". In conclusion, Santana suggested replacing a hedonistic motto that was popular in the early days of his professional career with a more spiritual mantra. "Timothy Leary said, 'Switch on, switch on, get out'. What we are saying today is, 'Enjoy your own light and create miracles and blessings. Peace." Santana's Mirayo is available from select pharmacies in the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California, with preference given to Latinx-owned companies. More information about the new brand is available online.
