Business travelers in their sights: Lufthansa is planning more flights
More flights, better catering according to the board member

The German airline Lufthansa wants to win back business travelers by increasing the number of flights and improving catering, as a board member said on Sunday. In 2019, Lufthansa will carry around 50% of the passengers it carried before the coronavirus crisis, and it flies to 88% of the destinations it served before the pandemic. "The daily frequencies are being increased on many connections," said Christina Foerster, Lufthansa Board Member for Customers, IT and Corporate Responsibility, to the Funke media group on Sunday. "This is important for business travelers who want to fly there and back on the same day." Foerster also announced that the airline would be setting up a lunchtime flight on particularly popular routes and will be introducing new menus for premium customers from September 1 that combine German cuisine with international influences. The airline is well prepared for a surge in demand when air traffic to the United States resumes, Foerster added.
