Ant Group´s IPO is currently on hold
Alibaba´s subsidiary is facing trouble with the Chinese communist party.

China halted the $ 37 billion initial public offering (IPO) of Alibaba Holding (NYSE: BABA) affiliate Ant Group a day after regulators interrogated its founder, Jack Ma. The suspension has sparked uncertainty about the future of the financial tech company and issued a shocking reprimand for Ma.
The Shanghai Stoke Exchange halted the Ant Group IPO, which was the largest IPO in the world on Tuesday. This follows Ma's interrogation and the company's two top executives in a closed session on Monday. The much-anticipated listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Shanghai Stoke Exchange on Thursday has been challenged by financial regulators, which include the PBOC. Ant's move public could have shown how the company has brought loans, payments and investments online.
According to the company, there was an exchange of views on the stability and health of the financial sector during the meeting. In a statement from Ant stated that she is committed to implementing the views of the meeting. A statement from the Shanghai Stock Exchange said that Ma, the company's majority shareholder, had been summoned to "supervisory interviews." Other issues that led to the IPO's suspension include a change in the regulatory environment in the financial technology space.
The exchange noted that such a material event may not meet the listing and issuing conditions or information disclosure requirements. As a result, the exchange decided to postpone listing. Founded in 2004 as a branch of Alibaba, Ant Group was spun off in 2014 and its business has grown tremendously since then. The company has questioned the dominance of state banks and financial institutions in China, and now regulators may be skeptical about Ant's rapid growth in some areas.
There are concerns that if it should collapse, it could be too big to save. Ant has turned around and used his finances to lend and currently acts as an intermediary between banks and borrowers.
