Amazon opens Covid vaccination clinic
The online giant has opened a little clinic in Seattle.

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) will inaugurate a pop-up clinic at its Seattle headquarters on January 24, 2021 in partnership with VMFS (Virginia Mason Franciscan Health). The company plans to vaccinate 2,000 eligible citizens in the fight against the coronavirus on day one. Jay Carney, senior vice president of global corporate affairs, said his executive will be in touch with Washington state vaccine headquarters. It is on the background of Amazon sent a letter to Joe Biden, the US President, expressing his intention to participate in the Covid-19 vaccination effort. The state can vaccinate people aged 50 and over living in multigenerational households and 65 and over. Over 800,000 people work for Amazon in the United States. Over 19,000 Amazon workers in the United States contracted the coronavirus in September 2020. The vaccine against COVID-19 is essential to protect employees and keep warehouses operational. Amazon turned to the Federal Labor Authority with a request to reconsider their decision to allow postal voting because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Instead, it asked the agency to postpone the organizing vote at its Alabama warehouse and requested a personal vote. According to the NLRB's decision, the ballot papers will be mailed to approximately 6,000 warehouse employees in Alabama on February 8, 2021. Amazon filed a letter to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on Thursday to review its decision to allow personal voting. In its filing, Amazon said the NLRB's decision is flawed and not clearly defined about coronavirus.
