Xiaomi beats Samsung and Apple in smartphone sales

Xiaomi Corporation sales rose 26%, resulting in 17.1% of the total smartphones sold worldwide in June. Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, along with Apple Inc (Nasdaq: AAPL), sold 15.7%, which is 14.3% of global smartphone sales. Counterpoint Research showed that XIACF was the second largest smartphone brand in Q2 2021. The leading brand was Apple in the 2nd quarter of 2021. Research by Strategists analytics showed that XIACF led the European market between April and June. XIACF had a 25% market share of smartphone sales in Europe from April to June. Since Huawei's decline, XIACF has been on the rise to replace the market. "Xiaomi has expanded its market in the old Huawei markets in China, the Middle East and Africa," said Tarun Pathak, research director of Counterpoint. India, the fastest growing smartphone market in the world, is now dominated by Xiaomi smartphones. However, XIACF was able to maintain its high dominance in India by taking four of the top five. As a result, smartphone shipments to India decreased 13% in Q2 2021 compared to March 1. The Counterpoint report also revealed that Samsung reduced its sales in June due to the high Covid-19 cases in Vietnam. Samsung pointed out that the drop in sales in June was due to the lockdown due to Covid 19. It is expected that sales will normalize again in the foreseeable future. Earlier this year, XIACF launched the Mi 11 Ultra, which is targeting international markets to replace the Huawei market. With the Mi 11 Ultra, HKG: 1810 is entering into fierce competition with the giants KRX: 005930 and NASDAQ: AAPL. XIACF also launched its first foldable phone to compete with Samsung Galaxy. The Mi 11 Ultra has a starting price of 5,999 yuan ($ 928). Samsung is expected to unveil the next Galaxy on August 11th. Evan Blass leaked this information in a thread with tweets and GIFs from two foldable Galaxy smartphones. Apple will introduce the iPhone 13 next month. The iPhone 13 should contain larger camera humps this year.
