The S&P 500 is on its way to another all time high
An extended stimulus package is pushing the US-index to further heights.

"We have a Federal Reserve that keeps rates low, all in all, probably all the way down the curve, as far as the eye can see," Northern Trust's Katie Nelson told Bloomberg.
"That is a support for higher ratings." A modest gain for the S&P 500 lifted the index to a new record high yesterday. It remains to be seen whether there are any more records pending today, as futures are currently up just under 0.15%. The stimulus-related measures may support an upward move as congressional leaders yesterday signaled readiness to compromise further and the White House this morning is optimistic that there is a chance of getting a scaled-down package swiftly passed.
On the negative side are the increasing trade tensions with China. There was supposed to be talks last weekend about implementing last winter's phase one deal, but the president said last night he canceled them and gave little indication that they would be postponed anytime soon. Electoral politics are clearly at play, with the White House having to balance its tough stance on China with a desire not to scrap the deal entirely. The Shanghai Composite fell 1.25% in Wednesday's action.
