PayPal and Visa to partner up for new technology development

Small businesses and individuals around the world are struggling with a lack of liquidity during this difficult period. To alleviate cash scarcity and help people and small businesses manage their daily finances, PayPal Holdings Inc (Nasdaq: PYPL) and Visa Inc (NYSE: V) have introduced a new strategy to get their hands on cash faster. PayPal and Visa made a pact to influence the instant transfer mechanism. It reduces the transfer time of funds from days to seconds. The duo enabled both businesses and individuals to quickly transfer funds to their bank accounts. It applies to international and domestic payments. Companies and consumers who use iZette, Hyperwallet, Braintree product solutions or Xoom, Venmo or PayPal accounts can opt for the instant transfer mechanism under the new agreement between PayPal and Visa. PayPal will use the Visa Direct service for fast money transfers worldwide and nationwide. Other payment providers like Square and Stripe in different regions of the world reduced the transfer time for funds a few years ago so that recipients can use the funds quickly. The need for quick cash has emerged recently as individuals and businesses live in worse times. Businesses struggle with slowdowns while several people are unemployed. Hence, the urgency of getting funds to facilitate buying and selling has increased significantly because of the coronavirus crisis. According to a recent survey conducted by PayPal in the US, 76% of small businesses are struggling with liquidity issues. Around 91% of them said that processing transactions in real time would help them overcome the crisis. The fund's instant transfer mechanism will also improve PayPal's expertise in the already crowded market. E-commerce is a local issue in every nation. The same scenario may not apply to other nations. To address such issues, PayPal launched its services and invested in startups. PayPal offers instant transfer options on its platforms to generate more income. Jack Forestell, CPO of Visa, said it was very important to send and receive money from small businesses or loved ones during the ongoing coronavirus crises. The alliance with PayPal on a global scale brings two brands together to help both small businesses and individuals cope with the fund crisis and maintain financial stability.
