Microsoft just launched a new Azure Cloud Tool
The new software aims at helping customers to structure their data flow.

Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ: MSFT) has unveiled a new cloud-based tool designed to help corporate customers understand where data is distributed across their organization and whether they are complying with data protection laws. The company, known for the Windows operating system and other applications like Office, has built a massive cloud computing business. The Microsoft cloud helps store and process huge amounts of data for corporate customers. Last year the company introduced a tool called Azure Synapses. The tool is important for companies like FedEx who use it to analyze the flow of more than 16 million packages per day. Interestingly, data storage has grown very large for most companies, and in most cases it is distributed globally in different countries. Because of the need to quickly find specific data when it is searched, Microsoft is introducing an Azure Purview tool that will help companies determine exactly what type of data they have and where to find it. Above all, however, the tool will be helpful for risk management and data protection officers. John Chirapurath, vice president of Microsoft Azure Data, Artificial Intelligence and Edge, said the tool will help commissioners ensure companies are complying with regulations like the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation. Chirapurath said it was one thing to generate insights from data, but it was also another thing to question the data itself. He added that some of the things officials will think about are how they will use the data they collect, and whether the use is fair and responsible. While this sounds like esoteric terms, they are critical to how a modern business works and the data that you have should be trusted. The company stated that some corporate customers are already using the services. IA uses the new tool to recognize its sensitive data in a regulated manner and to mask it automatically. For example, the tool can hide data about European customers from sales reports from US employees who do not have access to the data.
