Golden Predator´s Brewery Creek project gets the Go from First Nation tribes

The Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in First Nation announced that it has submitted letters of support to the Yukon Water Board and the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board for the timely renewal of the Brewery Creek Water License and Quartz Mine License. The Brewery Creek gold mining project is owned by Vancouver-based Golden Predator Mining (TSX.V: GPY) and operated under a socio-economic agreement with the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in. The project currently has valid licenses that will expire on December 31, 2021. Therefore, with the support of the First Nation, Golden Predator applied for an extension on the existing terms for a 10-year extension. "Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in has a long history of both direct involvement and consultations about the property with its various owners, including an amended and revised socio-economic agreement signed in 2012," the mining company said in a press release. "Golden Predator is requesting license renewal with the same terms \[and\] will consider additional license changes in the future that would be assessed separately based on what the company proposes after the feasibility study is complete." Brewery Creek, located 55 kilometers from Dawson City, is a heap leach brownfield gold mine operated by Viceroy Minerals from 1996 to 2002. According to Golden Predator, a feasibility study for the project will be carried out by Kappes Cassiday & Associates, which will include a multi-year mine plan, an inventory of the mineralized material remaining on the heap and a mine plan to resume mining of material from the leachable resources within the license area.
