Dispensary in Michigan hands out free cannabis for vaccines

A Michigan pharmacy came up with an incredibly creative idea to get people excited about the concept of vaccination: They offer free cannabis to those who want to get vaccinated. Greenhouse of Walled Lake in Michigan calls their campaign "Pot for Shots" and is determined to increase the vaccination rate and bring us closer to herd immunity with this special offer. As long as you bring written proof of your vaccination to the store, you are entitled to a free pre-rolled joint as thanks for your efforts. "Our goal is to raise awareness of the importance of COVID-19 vaccination as we as a community fight against this terrible pandemic," Owner Jerry Millen said in an official Greenhouse of Walled Lake press release. "'Pot for Shots' is our way of showing our commitment to helping the community return to normal. We support the safe and responsible use of cannabis, and we hope this is the beginning of the end of this insidious pandemic. " While this is a fun way to get more business in the door thanks to the promise of a free preroll that pretty much anyone can stand behind, there is a deeper meaning and message behind what they're trying to do. Health officials are concerned about the amount of vaccine doubts and COVID conspiracy theories floating around because if not enough people get vaccinated, the pandemic will last longer and have more opportunities to mutate into new strains that may be more dangerous or difficult to get treat are. This type of mutation is already taking place. A more contagious variant of COVID has emerged in the UK, and a Michigan man who recently traveled to the UK tested positive for this strain. Walled Lake Greenhouse is trying to get the message across that vaccination is an important step for Michigans.
