Chevron aims at acquiring the remaining shares of Noble Midstream

Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) and Noble Midstream Partners LP (Nasdaq: NBLX) have signed an all-stock deal. As part of this deal, Chevron will acquire the remainder of Noble's outstanding assets. The parties announced the agreement six months after Chevron bought Noble. Chevron currently owns nearly 63% of Noble Midstream's shares and plans to acquire the remaining 33.925 million. Valued at approximately $ 1.32 billion, the recent acquisition makes Chevron one of the beneficiaries of assets in the Permian Basin. Chevron exudes confidence that the company will succeed in increasing the return on capital employed, as it has promised investors. The company's confidence comes from the choices it has made in most of its business ventures. For example, it was very careful when selecting the projects. Sources suggest it only opted for the projects with the highest returns. Chevron's CFO Pierre Bieber is very pleased with the steps the company has taken to date, citing cost efficiency and capital discipline as essential for any business looking to thrive. The official takes great pride in the company's portfolio and investments, and points out that the two factors mentioned enable the company to grow free cash flow and increase returns. The company's capital could decline over the next five years as it plans to invest in improving its position in the Permian. The goal will be to increase investment in some of the company's attractive assets in Kazakhstan. Chevron has also been committed to ensuring carbon footprint reductions, and it is pleased that it achieved that goal. The company reportedly achieved the above goal three years ahead of schedule, which says a lot about its commitment to the environment. The company is very proud of its energy transition strategy and describes it as progressive and targeted. It aims to take action that is good not only for shareholders but also for society. The company's goals for 2028 and their achievement would reveal many key points. For example, it would rank in the top quartile of oil and gas producers in terms of carbon intensity. Chevron also plans to increase its renewable energy and carbon share to stay on top. The right strategy means anything to the company that discloses plans to invest in low carbon technologies. It highlights hydrogen and carbon sensing as part of the key steps.
