Big changes are imminent in the cannabis space in Florida
The Sunshine State now also allows the production and manufacture of edibles in its territory.

Florida's cannabis industry is one of the fastest growing areas for growth in the marijuana space. With several leading cannabis stocks located outside of the state, many believe Florida has solid long-term potential. When we talk about Florida's cannabis industry, the resident marijuana stocks there are mostly MSO cannabis stocks. These companies operate dispensaries in many states, Florida being one of them. On August 31st, there was big news of a recent update to the Florida cannabis law. The state decided to legalize the production and sale of THC-containing foods such as cookies, candy, and baked goods. The rule, known as the "Emergency Rule", contains several provisions. One of them is that the products must be sold in geometric shapes so that there is little or no resemblance to popular sweets. This regulation is intended to protect those who accidentally ingest the substance without knowing that it is cannabis. Some marijuana stocks that benefit from edibles, such as KushCo Holdings Inc. (OTC: KSHB) and Canopy Growth Corp. (NYSE: CGC) may see sales growth as a result. With that in mind, here are two stocks of cannabis that could benefit from the new law. The most popular marijuana stock in Florida Trulieve Cannabis Corp. (OTC: TCNNF) is one of the most popular marijuana stocks with a large presence in Florida's cannabis industry. While many other MSO cannabis stocks to watch have focused on broad expansion, TCNNF stock has benefited from the company's decision to focus heavily on Florida. Because of this specialization, TCNNF's inventory has grown alongside the Florida cannabis industry. And given that the state isn't fully reformed yet, there appears to be great future potential for TCNNF stocks. Many other MSO cannabis stocks, such as Green Thumb Industries Inc. (OTC: GTBIF), have a large presence in the US, but none have a more advantageous position in Florida than Trulieve. Additionally, the company has shown some very solid financial metrics in light of the plight in Covid. In its final second quarter, Trulieve reported a year-over-year sales increase of around 109%. With the recent update of the laws in Florida, that number could potentially increase even further in the near future. Another important Floridian marijuana inventory Liberty Health Sciences Inc. (OTC: LHSIF) is another of the leading marijuana stocks with a large presence in Florida. The company states that it is a vertically integrated producer and retailer of marijuana. The company reportedly has up to 250,000 square feet of growing space, which is enough to produce a very large amount of cannabis. LHSIF holdings are still in a very solid position as there are few competitors in this area of the Florida's cannabis industry. The company has also consistently been able to grow its customer base by 50% year on year, which is quite substantial. LHSIF stocks have also grown due to the growing number of those who use cannabis in Florida. Should the state opt for a full redemption, LHSIF shares would rank next to TCNNF shares in terms of their future potential. But as a major player in Florida, Liberty Health could be a solid pot inventory to watch for in light of this recent update to Florida cannabis legislation.
