Amazon and Toyota start cooperation on data

Toyota Motor Corp (NYSE: TM) and Amazon.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN) have signed an agreement to expand their global partnership. As part of the partnership, the two companies will use AWS's extensive service portfolio to expand Toyota's Mobility Services Platform (MSPF). The MSPF is an ecosystem developed by Toyota to help its engineers develop, deploy, and manage data-driven mobility services for the safety, security, comfort, and convenience of passengers and drivers. Toyota hopes to continue to dominate the global transportation industry with the help of the MSPF. MSPF will depend on the scalability and reliability of the AWS global infrastructure to solve the computing and analysis challenges of its operations. Toyota will also leverage the engineering expertise of AWS Professional Services to process and analyze data from its global fleet of connected vehicles. Toyota will use MSPF and its application programming interfaces (API) to collect data from connected vehicles. This data will then be used for new contextual services such as ridesharing, car sharing, full service leasing, and new business and consumer services such as behavior based insurance and proactive vehicle maintenance notifications. The vehicle manufacturer will also use the data for the design and development of new vehicles. The growing reliance on data Organizations increasingly rely on data to understand people and their habits. In the current social media world, every comment, such as Share, tweet or retweet, examined, analyzed and used for future decisions. Social media platforms stalk the locations of their users' smartphone logs as well as their browsing habits. As part of the partnership, amazon will use the Get data to investigate customers' driving habits and possibly use the data to set insurance premiums. The program will provide Amazon Toyota with access to drive telemetry from data communication modules and the extensive advisory services of AWS, data storage and reserves of computational power from Toyota. AWS will be able to analyze one's driving habits, including speed, frequency of use of safety aids, and even minute tracking. In addition, with the help of cameras aimed at the driver, Amazon will be able to monitor the driver's attention. Insurance companies turn to vehicle manufacturers to help collect data that is useful in the design and pricing of insurance premiums.
